Arrivals are on Saturdays between 3pm and 7pm. The time at which the
accommodation is available may vary depending on how long it takes to
prepare. For arrivals outside these times or on another day, please
contact the residence.
Departures: Before 10:00 a.m.
- Deposit: €250/accommodation
(to be paid on site). This deposit will be returned to you on the day
of departure after an inventory check or by post within 8 days in the
event of departures outside opening hours.
- Tourist tax: 1,50€ per night and per person (1.70€ starting from 01/01/2026). The decision may be changed at any time by the
local council. As this tax is a local tax, Goélia is not responsible
for any changes.
- All your requests (exposure, floor, view,
apartment number, etc.) will be taken into account as far as possible,
but cannot be guaranteed.

Châtel is a tourist town in the Haute-Savoie department. Located at an altitude of 1,200 metres and boasting nearly 130 km of ski slopes, this resort is an ideal holiday destination for winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. Bordering Switzerland, Châtel delights thousands of European tourists every year. In the morning, take a walk in the fresh snow before setting off on your adventure. The village resort of Châtel is also an ideal holiday destination for families. For a change of pace, you can also leave the slopes to attend one of the many children's shows organised in the evening. The mountains are also a place of tradition: discover with your children the secrets of making Abondance cheese, a famous local product.
Châtel is located in the aptly named Abondance Valley. Rich in cultural and environmental heritage, this valley has been awarded the ‘Towns and Regions of Art and History’ label with the designation ‘Pays de la Vallée d'Abondance’ (Abondance Valley Region). It is dotted with magical places offering exceptional panoramic views.
Mont de Grange is the highest point in the Abondance Valley. This natural site rises to an altitude of 2,432 metres and offers the most courageous hikers and cross-country skiers in Châtel a unique view of the entire valley.
Just above the village of Châtel, take the ski lifts to reach the Pic du Morclan. As you ski down the slope, admire the superb, breathtaking panorama.
For a more leisurely stroll, Lake Vonnes is just 1 km from the village centre. The lake is equipped so that you can enjoy the dreamlike reflections of the mountains in the water during family walks.
The Châtel aquatic center features a 25-meter lap pool which can be divided into two or three lanes for those who enjoy swimming laps. A cardio room equipped with treadmills, elliptical trainers, and rowing machines is also available at the "Forme d'O" facility.
Numerous snowshoeing trails some of which straddle the border between France and Switzerland cater to all ability levels, ranging from one-hour strolls to vigorous 4 to 5 hour hikes.
Each week, guided outings led by certified instructors offer the chance to explore the local wildlife and scenery on either half-day or full-day excursions.
Thrill seekers are in for a treat with the "Fantasticable," a unique attraction in the Alps: securely strapped into a harness, you soar over the hamlet of Plaine-Dranse at speeds of nearly 100 km/h and heights of up to 140 meters.
La Vieille Douane, Châtel’s former customs house, traces the history of smuggling between France and Switzerland through a richly illustrated exhibition and interactive displays suitable for the whole family.
Châtel is also part of the UNESCO Chablais Global Geopark, an area renowned for the richness of its natural, geological and cultural heritage. It offers the chance to discover remarkable landscapes and the traditions that shape the valley.
The leisure pool, featuring a gentle slope ranging from 0 cm to 1.5 m in depth, is designed for water exploration and includes a fun aquatic play area, a counter-current swimming feature, and two water mushrooms. The 200 m² outdoor pool—heated to 32°C in winter—offers the chance to swim in the open air with a stunning view of the valley, set against the magical backdrop of snow at the foot of the slopes.
Meanwhile, the Châtel Tonic Club offers fitness and wellness activities.
For children aged 2 to 12, the Châtel Indoor Kids Park is a 400 m² indoor playground that is covered, heated, and fully secure.

Résidence agréable bien placée dans la station à côté du lac de Vonnes. Jolie vue depuis l'appartement qui nous a été attribué. Cependant nous avons été déçus sur certains points. Le logement était propre dans l'ensemble mais globalement vétuste, notamment la literie et le canapé vieillissant et peu confortable. Aucun rangement dans l'une des chambres pour les vêtements. La plus grosse déception est l'absence totale de mobilier sur le balcon, ce qui enlève une grande partie du plaisir du séjour dans ce logement. Concernant la piscine le mobilier est également vétuste (chaise longue cassée, ou en mauvais état, absence de parasol). La résidence reste cher pour la qualité du séjour, d'autant que le coût du séjour reste élevé avec le parking obligatoire payant ainsi que le frais de dossier qui s'ajoutent. Chatel est un très beau village pour les randonnées La résidence est très bien située à 5 min à pied du lac trés agréable et à 10 min du bourg Nous avons loué un appartement 4 personnes qui avait une très belle vue sur la montagne Le parking obligatoire à 50€ la semaine est assez cher ainsi que les frais de dossier à 30€ ce qui fait monter la note de façon significative (187€ au total en plus avec la taxe de séjour pour 2 semaines soit 30% du prix de notre séjour) La résidence ne participe pas au programme carte multi activité de la station et les jacuzzi et sauna n’étaient pas opérationnel pendant les 2 semaines (1 de nos critères de sélection de cette résidence ) L’appartement est assez grand avec une chambre séparée lit confortable , mais peu de rangement dans la chambre et le salon pour les affaires personnelles le canapé est peu confortable L’électroménager est assez ancien (frigo, lave-vaisselle) Absence de mobilier extérieur alors qu’indiqué dans l’inventaire
