In the heart of Les Portes du Soleil, Châtel is a lively and dynamic resort for skiing enthusiasts.Châtel offers privileged access to the largest ski area, with 650 km of slopes (bringing together 12 resorts: Avoriaz, Morzine, Montriond, Le Gets, St Jean d’Aulps, Abondance, Châtel and four Swiss resorts).
Close to Switzerland and Lake Geneva, in the Abondance valley, Châtel is a charming village resort which combines tradition, a gentle way of life and conviviality. The residence Le Grand Ermitage surrounded by forest and pastures, was designed with respect to traditional mountain construction, where the combination of stone and wood is a reminder of the chalets of the past. Enjoy the heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, sauna and hot tub at Le Grand Lodge residence, located 30 metres away.
Housing
All the apartments have a Fully fitted kitchen (vitroceramic hobs, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, electric coffee maker, toaster, kettle). Balcony or patio. Television included.
IMPORTANT:
Never exceed the maximum number of people authorised for the apartment. For safety reasons, we will be required to deny you access (even if it is a baby).

- End-of-stay cleaning (excluding kitchenette):
If the accommodation is not left in a perfectly clean condition, or if
the holidaymaker prefers not to do it themselves: €65 for accommodation
for 2 to 5 people, €89 for accommodation for 6 to 7 people, €99 for
accommodation for 8 to 9 people (to be paid on site). In any case, the
accommodation must be left with the kitchenette clean (dishes washed and
put away).
- Wi-Fi access (price per device): Rates available on site.
- Pets:
Small pets are accepted on a leash for an additional fee of €11 €/
night or €49/week, payable on site. Please mention this when booking
(rabies certificate required). Attack dogs and category 2 dogs
(guard/defence dogs) are not permitted. Only one pet per accommodation
unit.
- Continental breakfast: €13/adult/day, €7.50/child/day (aged 6 to 12 inclusive). Must be pre-booked with the residence and paid for on site.
- Private access to the sauna, hot tub or steam room (available at the Grand Lodge) : €14/20-minute
session for one person, €21/20-minute session for two people, €11.50
per additional person with a maximum of 6 people (access prohibited to
minors unaccompanied by an adult and children under 16 years of age).

Arrivals:
Arrivals are on Saturdays between 3pm and 7pm. The time at which the
accommodation is available may vary depending on how long it takes to
prepare. For arrivals outside these times or on another day, please
contact the residence.
Departures: Before 10:00 a.m.
- Deposit: €250/accommodation
(to be paid on site). This deposit will be returned to you on the day
of departure after an inventory check or by post within 8 days in the
event of departures outside opening hours.
- Tourist tax: According
to current regulations. (The decision may be changed at any time by the
local council). As this tax is a local tax, Goélia is not responsible
for any changes.
- All your requests (exposure, floor, view,
apartment number, etc.) will be taken into account as far as possible,
but cannot be guaranteed.

Breathtaking natural sites
Châtel is located in the aptly named Abondance Valley. Rich in cultural and environmental heritage, this valley has been awarded the ‘Towns and Regions of Art and History’ label with the designation ‘Pays de la Vallée d'Abondance’ (Abondance Valley Region). It is dotted with magical places offering exceptional panoramic views.
Mont de Grange is the highest point in the Abondance Valley. This natural site rises to an altitude of 2,432 metres and offers the most courageous hikers and cross-country skiers in Châtel a unique view of the entire valley.
Just above the village of Châtel, take the ski lifts to reach the Pic du Morclan. As you ski down the slope, admire the superb, breathtaking panorama.
For a more leisurely stroll, Lake Vonnes is just 1 km from the village centre. The lake is equipped so that you can enjoy the dreamlike reflections of the mountains in the water during family walks.
