Located in the heart of the Parc Naturel des Volcans d’Auvergne on the sunny southern slope of Sancy, Super Besse enjoys stunning views of the Puys range and the Cantal Volcano.
Called “Family Mountains and More,” Super Besse is a modern and dynamic resort with many leisure facilities and a special welcome is reserved for families and children: activities, reception areas and specific entertainment.
In the summer, Super Besse becomes an open-air leisure park: nautical base and beach on the Lac des Hermines (swimming, kayaking, paddling , games for children … ), tree climbing , golf, horse riding, swimming pool, summer toboggan, mountain bike area, paragliding sites, Fantasticable zip line , deval’kart… To better take advantage of these activities the Leisure Pass, available at the resort, is a personal multi-activity package providing access to a large number of fun and sports activities at preferential rates.
Le Sancy is also the land of hiking. Whether you are a novice or an experienced hiker, you will discover magnificent volcanic landscapes, and exceptional flora and fauna on the many marked hiking trails. The Perdrix cable car, alone, deserves a visit with its panoramic view of Super Besse. It is the starting point for a hike or mountain bike ride... If you like to explore, make sure to visit Besse, a medieval and renaissance city of the Auvergne mountains, and the castle of Murol and Vulcania: a fun theme park that explains the geology of volcanoes and our planet. By train : SNCF station's of Clermont-Ferrand, then the bus to Besse.

Sports activities
The Sancy area offers over 700 km of marked trails for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding, set against incredible scenery including Lake Pavin, the Puy de Sancy, the Chaudefour Valley Nature Reserve, and Lake Chambon.
Lake Hermines offers supervised swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, pedal boats, and an inflatable obstacle course.
Thrill-seekers can enjoy Xtrem Aventure de la Biche (featuring 20 ziplines, 2 via ferratas, a monkey bridge, and an underground luge run) and the "Fantasticable" zipline, which boasts a 240-meter vertical drop over a 1,600-meter course.
A bike park, summer luge, Devalkar, mountainboarding, paragliding, trout fishing, and trail routes via the Sancy Explorer app round out an exceptional range of sporting activities.
Heritage and cultural discovery
The Château de Murol—a 12th-century fortress and listed historic monument—is just 17 km away and offers immersive displays and costumed horsemen.
The medieval town of Besse and the village of Saint-Nectaire are also well worth a visit.
A one-hour drive away, Vulcania—a unique European theme park dedicated to volcanoes, located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Chaîne des Puys—will delight visitors of all ages.
Leisure and shops
A unique escape game set inside the cable car cabins is available on Thursday and Saturday evenings during the summer.
Leisure options are rounded out by a cinema, bowling alley, wellness area, media library, indoor sports hall, pétanque, and hot-air balloon rides.
