Saint-Jean d'Arves is a hamlet, based opposite the imperial Aiguilles d'Arves and very near to the spectacular Col de la Croix de Fer. It is also a family and friendly resort with all the shops, a cinema, sports stores and restaurants. Activities in the resort in July-August: tennis, archery , mini golf, mountain trips, free sporting activities organised by the resort in the season (table tennis, boules, football, volleyball, etc.) from Monday to Friday in the evening.
Hikes possible with a guide for climbing the Pic de l'étendart, a summit and renowned snowcap starting from the Col de la Croix de Fer. The tourist office, 50m from the Les Chalets des Marmottes complex, offers junior entertainment.
As the resort closes at the end of August, a car is essential for the last week
By train : S.N.C.F. train station St Jean de Maurienne 18Km away (TGV Paris in 4 hours).
By aeroplane: Chambéry Airport 120km away, Lyon St Exupéry 180Km away.
By road: Motorway to Chambéry then the A430 in the Albertville direction and the A43 in the Turin direction. St Jean de Maurienne (No.27) exit. In St Jean de Maurienne, take the Corbier/Vallée de l'Arvan (D926) direction, then follow St Jean d'Arves, the "le Chal" hamlet.

Sports activities
Saint-Jean-d'Arves offers an exceptional playground for all skill levels. Hiking, cycle touring, mountain biking, *via ferrata*, and rock climbing allow visitors to explore the landscapes of the Arves Valley.
Guided mountaineering expeditions provide access to the surrounding glaciers and peaks.
"Aquarando" (river trekking)—hiking upstream along the valley's waterways with a guide—guarantees a refreshing experience and plenty of thrills.
Mountainboarding (suitable for ages 6 and up), paragliding, *cani-rando* (hiking with dogs), and excursions on horseback or with donkeys round out a diverse range of sporting activities accessible to everyone.
Heritage and cultural discovery
Saint-Jean-d'Arves boasts a rich cultural and religious heritage, including the hamlet of Le Collet and its Chapel of Sainte-Brigide (1737), the Miellerie des Arves (honey farm), the Museum of Life in Days Gone By (open for self-guided tours), and the Vallée des Arves Dairy Cooperative.
Discovering the work of livestock farmers at the Le Chal mountain pastures rounds out an authentic immersion into mountain life.
Excursions to Susa and Turin are also possible.
