Activities at the Longeville-sur-Mer resort
Sports activities
Longeville-sur-Mer offers 7.2 km of beaches for swimming and water sports: surfing at Les Conches, one of the best spots in the Vendée, stand-up paddleboarding, kitesurfing, sailing and tubing.
The national forest can be explored on foot or by bike along seven signposted trails, a fitness trail and an educational trail.
The Marais Poitevin, meanwhile, is the perfect setting for canoeing or rowing trips in an unspoilt natural environment.
Sailing and surfing schools, sand yachting, tennis, horse riding and go-karting (in La Tranche-sur-Mer, 10 km away) round off the range of sporting activities on offer.
Heritage and cultural discovery
The Île d’Yeu is well known for its unspoilt beaches and historical remains: the 14th-century Vieux-Château and the dolmens at Les Petits Fradets and La Planche à Puare.
Just 15 km away, the salt marshes and oyster farm at Talmont-Saint-Hilaire offer guided tours, oyster tastings and local salt for sale.
The region’s architectural heritage is also well worth a visit: the Church of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, the Rabouillères mill, castles and abbeys, as well as Fontenay-le-Comte.
The Saint-Denis-du-Payré nature reserve (22 km), the island of Noirmoutier, the ‘Green Venice’ and the Puy-du-Fou (90 km) round off the range of possible excursions.
Leisure and shops
The Indian Forest Adventure Park (12 km) offers tree-top adventure courses, paintball, a water jump and a fun zone spread over 20 ha in the heart of the countryside.
O’Gliss Park (8 km) offers a wide range of attractions and relaxation areas for the whole family.
A cinema and a 370 m² aquatic centre are available in La Tranche-sur-Mer, less than 10 km away.
