Useful information

Located at the gateway to the Ecrins National Park and in the heart of the wild Oisans region, the Serre-Chevalier valley is a mountain in its purest form, a constellation of three authentic villages. Here, you feel like you are in the heart of the Alps, with the highest point being ‘Les Agneaux’ at an altitude of 3,664 metres.

Visitors can choose from a multitude of activities. The region's major asset is its climate, with 300 days of sunshine per year, influenced by both the Mediterranean and the mountains.

Serre-Chevalier is the only resort in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region to offer its customers a thermal spa centre, ‘Les Grands Bains’ in Monétier. Flowing naturally at 45°C, this spring has been flowing since the dawn of time: the water that comes out of it has healing properties (rheumatism and skin problems), but it is also relaxing and regenerating after a good day of activities.

Serre-Chevalier is also a paradise for families and young children. Here, children are treated like royalty. In 2008, the resort was awarded the ‘Famille Plus Montagne’ label. In Chantemerle, the ‘Les Poussins’ daycare centre takes care of children from 8 months old. The European Nature School takes over for children aged 3 to 17, introducing them to all aspects of the mountains in summer with an educational approach: discovering nature and the wilderness, building huts, playing in the forest, climbing courses, treasure hunts, treasure hunts, camouflage and forest games, learning exploration and survival techniques in a mountain environment, introduction to orienteering with maps and GPS, mini-raids and bivouacs.
