A holiday in Loudenvielle, a stay filled with relaxation and discovery!
The Louron Valley offers a wide variety of activities (mini golf lessons, hang gliding, water games, etc.). It has been labelled a ‘Land of Art and History’ since 2008 thanks to the valley's heritage and the expertise and skills of the region.
During the summer, the resort of Peyragudes is very lively. You can explore the mountain landscape with a programme of visits, hikes, mountain biking, climbing and aerial activities.
During the winter, thanks to the two resorts available to you, you can choose between 60 km of slopes in Peyragudes and 22 km of slopes in Val Louron. This resort is ideal for beginners who want to learn to ski (6 blue runs and 7 green runs). Non-skiers will be delighted by the wide range of activities on offer: snowshoeing, dog sledding, snake-gliding, yooner and airboarding.
Things to do/see:
- Balnéa: take a relaxing break at the leading thermal spa complex in the French Pyrenees. The Native American area is dedicated to children, while adults can relax in the Roman area.
- Lake Génos-Loudenvielle: a walk with several starting points will allow you to explore one of the most beautiful sites in the Pyrenees. There are many activities available on site, including fishing, pedal boating and canoeing on the lake.
- Lake Caillauas: set off to explore Lake Caillauas and the magnificent Clarabide Gorges on a beautiful hike in the Pyrenees.
- Col du Tourmalet: enjoy spectacular views from the legendary Tour de France mountain pass at the foot of the Pic du Midi.
- Ludic Park: have fun at this children's play centre (inflatable games, pony rides, hiking, etc.).
- Espace Ludéo: located a stone's throw from Balnéa, this aquatic complex offers water slides, a swimming pool, a Pentagliss, an outdoor spa, a paddling pool with a slide, water games for children and many other surprises.
Events to remember:
- Ciné-Cîmes Mountain Film Festival, in February: don't miss this film festival showcasing mountain cinema synonymous with human adventure, mutual aid and conviviality.
- Pyrénées Louron Air Festival, in May: attend an event dedicated to free flight, organised in collaboration with two paragliding schools in the Louron Valley.
- Tour de France 2020, in July: Loudenvielle will be the finish line for the 8th stage of the Tour de France 2020 (Cazeres-sur-Garonne stage).
- Balneaman Triathlon, in September: take part in the great challenge of the Pyrenean mountain passes, either alone or in a team (cycling, running, swimming).
- Local farmers' market, in December: enjoy this market offering direct sales between producers and consumers.
Leisure and shopping:
Loudenvielle and its surroundings will charm you with their wide range of activities. The more adventurous among you can take the opportunity to try free flight (paragliding or hang gliding), mountain biking, DévalBike (downhill scootering) or hiking.

Hiking enthusiasts can set out to explore Lake Caillauas and the Clarabide Gorges, set amidst a stunning Pyrenean landscape. The area around Loudenvielle also offers numerous routes for enjoying the mountain scenery on foot or by bike.
For the more adventurous, there are opportunities to try paragliding, hang-gliding, mountain biking, or even "DévalBike" a downhill scooter. In September, the Balneaman Triathlon presents a major challenge centered on Pyrenean mountain passes; participants can compete solo or in teams across cycling, running, and swimming disciplines.
Held in May in collaboration with two paragliding schools from the Louron Valley, the Pyrénées Louron Air Festival celebrates free-flight activities within a spectacular natural setting.
Heritage and cultural discovery
The Col du Tourmalet is a must-visit site during a stay in Loudenvielle. Made famous by the Tour de France, this legendary mountain pass offers spectacular views of the Pyrenees, right at the foot of the Pic du Midi.
The resort also maintains a strong connection to the race's history, having hosted the finish of Stage 8 of the 2020 Tour de France, which started in Cazères-sur-Garonne.
